Gulf FM is a community radio station situated in Kadina on the Yorke Peninsula. It services the Copper Coast and surrounding regions.

The station is on air at all times and with programs divided between on air presenters and a fully automated broadcasting system

During 2010 the station will enter into a new exciting period starting with a move to new larger and more modern premises
and increasing its coverage area with a stronger clearer signal.

Along with the move GULF FM will broadcast a brighter fresher sound suited for the casual lifestyle the local area represents.

A bigger, better web site will accompany the new GULF FM radio station providing the most comprehensive coverage of Yorke Peninsula's offerings.

GULF FM will remain fully committed to to the community during and after these exciting changes

The Peninsula Community Broadcasters Inc. is a non-profit community organization using The call sign 89.3 Gulf FM

Background Information

In 1997 a group of people gathered in Moonta to launch a Community FM radio station.

Coping with the regulatory framework, finding potential sites for a studio, broadcasting tower
and equipment consumed the group for much of that year.

In March 1998 Gulf FM received its licence to broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

GULF FM broadcasts fron studios in Kadina and transmits from a tower situated at Arthurton, a few kilometres south of Kadina.

The coverage from the transmitter is within a 50 kilometre radius allowing a good coverage for the whole of the Yorke Peninsula.

A higher tower to be built at the new premises will allow GULF FM to fully utilize it's current transmitting power thus providing a better, clearer reception for the listeners.
